day 9: of horses and lazy evenings by the pool

16 Feb 2006 (Thursday)

We woke up early this morning because we were going horse-back riding!!!

Yay!

Anyway it was at held at this ranch in a village far in the country. It was really fun. We had a good guide in this guy called Hector, who loved my name. He remembered it as Isabel and he kept calling me tt. Ah well... Good to have a Spanish name coz it's easily memorable... But sometimes it gets TOO memorable. Nonetheless, I'm happy tt my name was pronounced right. Someone's name is now Tie Song (pronounced as in "sing a song" tt "song"). Buahaha.

We each got a horse. My horse's name is Bonita, which means "Pretty" in Spanish.

And gosh, she IS a pretty horse. Love her. She's always hungry and easily distracted, but she's a real sweetheart.

Ben's horse is called Diamante, which means "Diamond"...

And Alvin's horse is named "Catrina". But he was the photographer for the pictures, so I don't have one of him on his horse. :(

Anyway we rode our horses with this group of other people...

All the way to this place called Cascade Waterfalls.

Very pretty place. Waterfall isn't tt big, but the water is shallow and pleasant, and you can take off your shoes and wade into the water.

Like so.

Me me me!

The three of us at the Cascade Falls. Okay, Alvin refused to take off his shoes. :(

And for posterity. ;)

After the ride to the falls, we took a long long mountain trail back to the ranch. It was bumpy and cloppy, but a lot of fun. Did I mention tt I love my horse?

Well. I know tt Alvin didn't love his horse at much. He was much happier at lunch, after we'd dismounted. Muahaha.

Well. We were all pretty happy people, actually. We each had free shots of tequila, specially distilled from the town of Tequila for this ranch. Ben and I both had 2 shots.

And well. That pretty much knocked us out for the rest of the day.

We spent the rest of the daylight snoozing by the pool.

Wahaha.

And at night, we decided to try out this salsa club by our hotel, just to see how it would be like.

We were lucky. That night they were conducting a crash course in salsa, so the three of us decided to just go for the lesson and see how we do.

Okay lah. No coordination, got embarassed by the teacher (plus totally cannot understand what he was trying to tell me in Spanish), didn't know what the hell I was doing...

But quite fun lah.

In the end, after the class when the official dancing began, we were completely wowed by EVERYONE. EVERYONE were amazing salsa dancers, from the young hot bods to the old people, every one could salsa, and salsa beautifully.

But tt didn't stop us from actually going up on stage and making fools of ourselves. We got applause anyway (for TRYING. Heh.). And it was fucking fun.

And Ben took unglam photos of me. Except tt for fairness' sake (seeing how many unglam photos I already have of him and Alvin here), I'll put them up too.

Firstly, me and Alvin. With me looking mildly drunk (I'm not tho. Only 1 Corona).

And secondly, me looking like I'm about to EAT Alvin.

Laughing too hard lah. Unglam unglam.

But damn fucking fun.
